Welcome to the Marchese French Connection!
This site has been setup to share our new life and experiences in
France.
It was a big decision to move here as you can imagine, but we are enjoying the
new challenges each day brings and feel very settled and happy. We have
been welcomed and accepted by our french neighbours and shared many an
evening with them.
In our first few weeks we faced the difficult task of buying our french left
hand drive car, opening a bank account, enrolling our daughter at school and
introducing ourselves to our local Mayor. These tasks may seem very easy
and simple but with the added factor of our minimal knowledge of the french
language - communciation is our biggest hurdle. We have just enrolled in
french lessons and hope that our weekly tuition will open many doors to us,
especially with regards to work and increasing our social circle.
Our first visit to the doctor happened sooner than expected, after Kate
participated in a drink-driving session - the driver (Kate) and the
micro-scooter had different views in the direction of travel. It all
ended in a horrible bloody mess on the lounge floor followed by a trip to the
hospital. At least we can confirm that the french health care
system is as good as they say.
We hope you enjoy browsing our galleries, we aim to update them regularly.
